Your Aesthetics Journey

Why One Treatment Isn’t Always the Answer

The One-Treatment Myth

One of the most common things we hear from new clients is: “I just want Botox.” Or: “If I get my lips done, I’ll be happy.”

And look – sometimes one treatment really is all you need. A bit of anti-wrinkle treatment in the right place can make a genuine difference. But more often than not, the best results come from taking a step back, looking at the bigger picture, and creating a plan.

At Elizabeth Aesthetics, we call this your aesthetics journey. And it’s one of the most important things we want our clients to understand.

Why a Journey, Not a Quick Fix?

Your face is complex. Your skin is unique. And the signs of ageing – or the things you’d like to change – are rarely caused by a single factor.

For example, someone who comes in wanting their nasolabial folds (the lines from nose to mouth) treated might actually benefit more from volume restoration in the cheeks. Lifting the cheeks can naturally reduce those lines without directly filling them. That’s the kind of insight that comes from a thorough consultation – and it’s why a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work.

A personalised treatment plan might include different treatments at different stages, building results over time. And that’s not a bad thing – it’s actually how you get the most natural, long-lasting results.

What Does a Typical Journey Look Like?

Every person is different, but here are a few examples of how a treatment journey might work:

In Your 30s: Prevention and Maintenance

Your skin is starting to show the first signs of ageing – fine lines, perhaps some dullness or loss of hydration. At this stage, the focus is often on prevention and skin quality:

  • Skin boosters for deep hydration and a natural glow
  • Polynucleotides to stimulate repair and improve elasticity
  • BioRePeel for a seasonal skin refresh
  • A good skincare routine (Elizabeth can advise on this)

This kind of plan might run over 2–3 months, with treatments spaced to allow your skin to respond and recover.

In Your 40s: Targeted Treatment

Volume loss, deeper lines, and changes in skin texture become more noticeable. A combination approach works well:

  • Anti-wrinkle injections for the upper face (forehead, frown, crow’s feet)
  • Sculptra to rebuild collagen and restore volume gradually
  • Skin boosters to maintain hydration and skin quality
  • Possibly polynucleotides to support ongoing skin repair

This journey might take 3–4 months to see the full cumulative effect, with maintenance treatments every few months after that.

In Your 50s and Beyond: Comprehensive Rejuvenation

More significant volume loss and skin laxity may benefit from a broader approach:

  • PDO threads for lifting and tightening
  • Sculptra for volume restoration
  • Anti-wrinkle injections for the full face (upper and lower)
  • Facial profiling for a bespoke, whole-face approach

A comprehensive plan at this stage might involve treatments over 4–6 months, with different treatments at different stages.

Understanding How Treatments Work Over Time

One of the reasons we encourage a journey approach is that different treatments work on different timescales:

  • Anti-wrinkle injections: Results appear within 3–5 days, peak at 2 weeks, and last 3–4 months. Then they gradually wear off as your muscles regain movement. This is completely normal.
  • Dermal fillers: Results are immediate but settle over 2–4 weeks as any swelling goes down. They typically last 6–18 months depending on the area and product used.
  • Sculptra: Results develop gradually over weeks and months as your body produces new collagen. You’ll usually need 2–3 sessions. Results can last up to 2 years.
  • Polynucleotides: Results build over 2–3 sessions. Improvements in skin quality continue to develop for weeks after each treatment.
  • Skin boosters: Results develop over a few weeks as hydration improves. A course of treatments is usually recommended.

When these treatments are combined thoughtfully – with the right spacing and sequencing – they complement each other beautifully. The result is a natural, refreshed appearance that builds over time rather than a dramatic overnight change.

Managing Expectations

We’d be doing you a disservice if we promised instant perfection. Aesthetics isn’t about perfection – it’s about enhancement. It’s about helping you look like the best version of yourself.

That’s why Elizabeth always starts with an honest conversation. She’ll talk to you about what’s realistic, what will make the biggest difference, and what the timeline looks like. If something isn’t right for you, she’ll tell you. And if a gradual approach will give you better results than trying to do everything at once, she’ll explain why.

Our clients consistently tell us that this honesty is one of the things they value most about Elizabeth Aesthetics. It builds trust, and trust leads to better outcomes.

Your First Step: A Consultation

If any of this resonates with you, the best thing you can do is book a consultation. It’s completely free, there’s no obligation, and it gives Elizabeth the chance to:

  • Assess your skin and facial structure
  • Understand your goals and concerns
  • Recommend a personalised treatment plan with realistic timelines
  • Give you transparent pricing with no hidden costs

Whether you end up having one treatment or embarking on a multi-month journey, it all starts with that first conversation.

Your skin is unique. Your treatment should be too.
