No preparation is required ahead of the treatment. Even better news, there is no recovery period either. You can return to daily activities on the same day.
Once you are comfortable, Elizabeth cleans the area to be worked on. Then the dermal filler is injected using a syringe. You may feel a mild pinch but the discomfort is minimal and fleeting.
The treatment is performed with very thin needles so you may feel a small amount of pain. The injection can also cause redness and mild bruising, but skin boosters can’t really be described as painful.

Yes, briefly, and this is normal rather than something going wrong. Profhilo is injected into a small number of specific points on each side of the face, and you will see small raised bumps at those points immediately afterwards. They settle within a few hours as the product spreads through the skin, though occasionally they last until the following morning. Elizabeth will tell you what to expect before you leave, but it is worth not booking the treatment for an hour before an event.
Not straight away, and that is worth knowing before you book. Profhilo works by stimulating your skin over time rather than filling anything, so the change builds gradually over the weeks following your treatment. Most clients notice their skin looking better hydrated and more even first, with firmness following. The full effect is seen after the second session.
Yes. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have an active skin infection or inflammation in the area being treated. Certain medical conditions and medications also mean it is not appropriate. Elizabeth will take a full medical history at your consultation and will tell you honestly if this is not the right treatment for you.
