Timing Is Everything
Chemical peels are one of the most effective ways to refresh and rejuvenate your skin. They remove the outer layers of dead, dull skin to reveal the fresher, brighter skin underneath. But there’s a catch – and it’s an important one.
You should never have a chemical peel in the summer.
That might sound surprising, but there’s a very good reason for it – and understanding why will help you get the best possible results from your treatment.
Why Summer Peels Are a No-Go
After a chemical peel, your skin is in a state of renewal. The old, damaged layers have been removed, and the fresh skin underneath is more sensitive than usual – particularly to UV exposure.
During the summer months, when UV levels are at their highest, this increased sensitivity can lead to:
- Hyperpigmentation – dark patches or uneven skin tone
- Increased risk of sunburn
- Irritation and redness that takes longer to settle
- Potentially undoing the benefits of the treatment entirely
Even with diligent sun cream use, the risk is simply too high during peak summer. That’s why responsible practitioners – Elizabeth included – won’t offer chemical peels during the summer months.
The Sweet Spot: Late Winter and Spring
The ideal window for chemical peels is between October and April. During these months, UV levels are lower, you’re naturally spending less time in direct sunlight, and your skin has the best conditions to heal and regenerate.
Spring is particularly popular because:
- Your skin has been through the harshness of winter – central heating, cold winds, and dry air
- A peel clears away the winter dullness and reveals fresh, healthy skin
- You’re preparing your skin to look its best just in time for summer
Think of it as a seasonal reset for your skin.
Our BioRePeel Treatment
At Elizabeth Aesthetics, we use BioRePeel – and it’s become one of our most popular treatments for good reason.
BioRePeel is a next-generation chemical peel that goes beyond simple exfoliation. It combines a peeling action with bio-stimulation, meaning it not only removes dead skin but also actively encourages new cell growth and collagen production.
What makes BioRePeel different?
- It’s a TCA-based peel with a unique two-phase technology
- It exfoliates without the aggressive peeling and downtime of traditional chemical peels
- It includes amino acids, vitamins, and other active ingredients that nourish the skin
- Most clients experience little to no visible peeling – just noticeably better skin
BioRePeel is great for:
- Dull, tired-looking skin that needs a refresh
- Fine lines and uneven texture
- Acne-prone skin and post-acne scarring
- Enlarged pores
- Preparing your skin for summer
What Does the Treatment Involve?
A BioRePeel treatment takes around 30 minutes. Elizabeth applies the solution to your skin, where it works for a short period before being neutralised and removed. There’s no significant downtime – your skin may look a little flushed immediately after, but most clients are back to normal within a few hours.
For the best results, we recommend a course of three treatments, spaced 7–14 days apart. This gives your skin time to regenerate between sessions and builds on the results each time.
Pricing
- Single BioRePeel treatment – £75
- Course of three treatments – £200 (saving £25)
Don’t Leave It Too Late
We cannot stress this enough – if you’re interested in a chemical peel, now is the time to book. Once the summer sun arrives, we stop offering peels until the autumn. And if you’re booking a course of three, you’ll want to start sooner rather than later to get all three sessions completed before the warmer weather sets in.
Your skin will thank you for it.
